Celebrities hit the nature-themed red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday (May 6), dressed in jaw-dropping looks showcasing the theme "Garden of Time" for the Costume Institute's new exhibit "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of the most notable moments from the carpet came when Gigi Hadid arrived in a dress so big it required a full team to help her walk.

The 29-year-old supermodel looked stunning in a white, off-the-shoulder corset dress by Thome Browne that featured a voluminous black-trimmed coat and train decorated with 3D yellow roses, thorn appliqués and green leaves and vines, per Vogue. It took a large team to craft the dress and an even longer time to create it. A team of 40 needed 8,500 hours to embroider the outer layer's skirt while 20 people spend 5,000 hours hand-embroidering 2.8 million micro bugle beads onto the corset dress.

"It's always a privilege to watch Gigi come to life. She is a true talent that shines at whatever she does," Browne said, adding, "I wanted her look to embody the fragility and immense work that you see in Andrew [Bolton]'s exhibit, blooming on the red carpet and into the Metropolitan Museum of Art."

The gorgeous look, which Hadid called a "sculpture," was so intricate and involved that Hadid needed a full team of five people to help her move and position the dress along the carpet so that she could walk up the iconic steps into the gala. The personal dress-carrying team ended up working wonders as Hadid posed along the carpet before successfully making inside the Met without taking any tumbles.

While walking the carpet, Hadid also spoke about her pal Taylor Swift's newest album The Tortured Poets Department, revealing that her favorite song from the two-album project is "Down Bad."
